Do you have a story that you’re ready to tell, instead of hiding behind? Are you ready to turn your lived experiences into something that you can share with others? Maybe you’ve gone through something and learned a lot from it, and now you’re ready to share that wisdom with others. Or maybe you’re not sure, but you’ve got this feeling that something wants to emerge. A truth. A story. An experience.

But where do you begin? You might be feeling fear, or doubt, or shame, or some combination of it all.

I get it. Been there, done that, bought the T-shirt.

What you really want is to feel like you’ve created something meaningful, something that sounds good. That people want to listen to. Whether it’s a song, poetry, or a story. You want to feel proud and confident in your story and creative ability.

And you deserve that! I’m here to help guide the story, the lyrics, the music that is already within you out into the world.

The world needs what only YOU can do in the way that only you can do it.

I’M KHALID

And I’m all about self-expression. At SOL Songs, I specialize in refining lived experiences into compelling and authentic songs. This work encompasses vocal and performance coaching, guiding individuals to access their creativity, and facilitating a shift in energy surrounding their sense of self and personal narratives. Through this support, clients can find enjoyment in the songwriting process and cultivate confidence in sharing their unique stories through song.

To transform fear into freedom, you need vulnerability, and creative expression is one of the quickest (and most) fun ways to access that vulnerability. And that vulnerability is at the heart of the creative process here at SOL SONGS. I specifically use a method called Documentary Songwriting. “The Documentary Songwriting Method breaks down the creative process to allow anyone, regardless of their musical background, to transform a personal story into an enduring song.”

Acoustic song

Over the course of about five 90-minute sessions, we’ll sculpt a “doc song” directly from a lived experience that’s meaningful to you!

Digital Production

Let’s take that acoustic doc song to the next level! We’ll work together, in collaboration with a music producer, to get your song ready to release on streaming platforms YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music. This includes adding other instrumental parts, recording the vocal melody on top of that, and balancing the sounds together for a perfect mix.

Group Workshop

This package is perfect for schools and community organizations looking for musical exploration, connection through storytelling, and accomplishment through collaboration! We structure the session(s) to fit your group’s scheduling needs, with the aim to have an acoustic song completed by the end of our time together.
